The Indian men’s cricket team is currently in England where they recently played a T20I and an ODI series. The Men in Blue managed to beat the Brits in the 20-overs format, however, lost the ODI series 2-1. Prior to that, Virat Kohli’s men played a two-match T20I series against Ireland at the Malahide Cricket Ground in Dublin and comprehensively thumped their rivals 2-1.
India will take part a five-match Test series against the Poms, which gets underway from the first week of August. The first Test will be played at Edgbaston followed by the ones at Lord’s, Trent Bridge, The Rose Bowl and Kennington Oval respectively. In the meantime, a number of cricketers would be returning to India as they aren’t a part of the Test squad, Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal are two of them.
Rohit started his campaign with a resounding knock of 97 runs in the 1st T20I before being dismissed by Peter Chase. He couldn’t play accordingly in the next three matches, however, came into his own in the third and final T20I against England at County Ground in Bristol. The right-hander notched his third century in the 20-overs format and equalled Colin Munro as the batsman with the most number of tons in T20Is.
Chahal and Ritika’s funny banter
He followed it up with a belligerent knock of 137 runs in the first ODI at Trent Bridge. It was also his 18th ODI century. On the other hand, Chahal’s campaign fell away a tad after his matches against Gary Wilson’s men. The leg-break bowler nipped out six wickets in a couple of matches against Ireland. He picked up only three wickets in the rest of the six limited-overs fixtures.
In the meantime, Rohit Sharma took to Instagram and uploaded his picture, where he was seen standing with the support of a gate. Chahal was quick to spot the message and replied, “Miss you rohitaaaaaa sharaaammmaaa”. From the blues, Ritika Sajdeh, Rohit’s better-half, made an appearance and sarcastically countered Chahal’s comments. She wrote, “he’s mine now”.
