Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spin bowler, hasn’t played any cricket for over four months now. He was last a part of the Men in Blue in the T20I and ODI series against New Zealand way back in February. There he bowled some stupendous spells, though he couldn’t save India from a 0-3 drubbing in the 50-overs format. He remains to be an indispensable member of their setup.

He was set to play in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The tournament was scheduled to get underway on March 29, but the coronavirus pandemic played spoilsport. Due to the ungodly COVID-19 virus, lockdowns were imposed in India and the T20 event had to be postponed for an indefinite period of time.

The BCCI is currently looking for a window to host the tournament and no specific dates for the IPL have been revealed until now. If the IPL doesn’t happen eventually, it could lead to massive losses for the world’s richest cricket board. As far as Chahal is concerned, despite not playing much cricket, he has been able to stay connected to his ardent fans, supporters and well-wishers.

He resorted to making videos on Tik-Tok where he went on to perform even with his family. The fans on social media thoroughly enjoyed Chahal’s antics. However, a few days ago, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese applications along with Tik-Tok. It was after 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in a cross-border fight. Calls of banning Chinese goods did the round from then.

Nevertheless, despite not having the short-video platform, the Haryana leg-spinner, has posted videos. Recently, he uploaded a throwback clip with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez where he tried to complete a challenge. During the 2018 edition of the IPL, the Indian actress joined the RCB’s camp to challenge the players to perform some fitness exercises.

Here’s Chahal’s video:

A couple of months ago, Chahal also featured in the talk-show ‘Double Trouble’, hosted by India women’s Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues. Chahal made his debut in the 2016 Zimbabwe tour and has churned out some match-winning spells. In 52 ODIs and 42 T20Is thus far, he has 91 and 55 wickets respectively with three five-wicket hauls.
