Zafar Gohar to join Pakistan team as a replacement for Yasir Shah: Pakistan suffered an injury scare on the eve of 1st Test against England after Yasir Shah went down with a back injury, he suffered during training. Captain Misbah ul Haq said that Yasir Shah experienced a back spasm and assessment will be made in the morning.
Yasir Shah was bowling in the nets and collapsed after bending down to field a ball. Shah who recently became the fastest Pakistani to take 50 Test wickets was considered to be a key bowler for Pakistan in the series and his absence will be a big blow for Pakistan side.
Left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar has been asked to join the Pakistan team as a replacement for Yasir Shah. He is doubtful to play the first Test match starting from tomorrow at Abu Dhabi. Pakistani team will miss the services of Yasir Shah if he misses the first Test match. He has been the leading spinner for Pakistan since Saeed Ajmal has been out of the scheme of things.
Yasir’s performances in the recent months have been great on pitches suitable for spinners; he has led his team to many victories with his bowling. His replacement Zafar Gohar is a young spinner.
Pakistan will start their 3-match Test series against England from tomorrow.
