Zaheer Khan isn't thinking of retirement or marriage

Indian pacer bowler Zaheer Khan who is rehabilitating from yet another injury at the moment. Is in India coping out of it, while the rest of the team India is fighting it out and struggling in England. The bowling department never looked incomplete when he was there and hasn’t got the teeth since exclusion.

The 35 year old left arm pacer possesses the rare skill of moving the ball both ways on and off the pitch. Zaheer also has a flaunt-able record in England but due to an injury he sustained during the IPL he missed out. He has been struggling with the hamstring issue since early days and he has the age factor too to fight now.

But, Zaheer doesn’t quite think of these and at the moment is completely focused to gain fitness and rhythm subsequently.
In an interview to HT Café Zak said he is not thinking of retirement at the moment. When he was asked about his response to his own mentor, coach Sudhir Naik in an interview recently said the left arm pacer may never play for India again. He said, “This is going to be another battle for me. Playing for India was never easy in the first place. It was an impossible looking dream, things are always difficult at that level and injuries add to it.”

It is not that he is being purely optimistic he was bowling well in the IPL, for India as well and has been really working hard to regain health and his place. On his rehab process Zaheer said, ” The first phase is over now. In the first week of August I should start bowling again. And then playing for India has to happen on its own.

“It’s no longer frustrating, looking back I have always had injuries. This time though I guess the time was wrong.. I had been preparing for a year and a half for this tour,” said a little disheartened Zaheer about the feeling on missing out the England tour.
“I’m single and happy… I haven’t even thought about retirement yet, what’ll I think about marriage?” answered in a counter question style.

He is in a real crucial phase of his career as he is not growing younger and has to be too good to force in a place with the Indian management looking at the world cup prospects. The selectors would have futuristic approach and the new breed of fast bowlers are young and quick. Though someone even with half the level of skill Zhaeer has can make it to the team it will be a thing to watch out for.
