Due to the political turmoil between India and Pakistan, they play each other only during major ICC events, which is a delight for fans of both countries. Recently, the entire nation was agog when India took on Pakistan on June 4 and ended up winning the game by a handsome margin of 124 runs at Edgbaston.

Amidst the joy of facing the arch-rivals, Zee News had totally boycotted the Edgbaston clash. Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra had stated that Zee News will not report the match at all in respect to Armed Forces of India. None of their apps, channels or print media covered the high-octane clash. He had also said that instead of cheering for their team, it will be better if they show the stories of the real jawans.

Recently, Zee News drew flak from India’s most successful off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, as he questioned a news report centred on him. He went on to say that Zee News a “faltu” channel which reports anything. Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary later strongly hit back and proved a point to the 36-year old.

With India winning against Bangladesh last night, it has ensured that India and Pakistan will clash again in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy. There is a lot of excitement amongst fans for this clash which will take place at the Kennington Oval in London.

While various news channels were busy reporting the victory of India against Bangladesh which paved the way for an Indo-Pak clash in the finals, Zee news yet again did not report anything of that sort.

Twitterati trolled Zee News wondering if they will not report of ton game again on Sunday. With a lot of TRP’s at stake, will Zee News go back on their words? They haven’t made any official announcement yet like they did for the June 4 game.
