IPL 2024: Gujarat Titans' strongest predicted playing XI against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Match 52

Gujarat Titans (GT) will go head-to-head against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The two teams met in Ahmedabad last week, where RCB annihilated the hosts by nine wickets. Both the sides have had an underwhelming campaign this season and it reflects well in the points table. 

RCB are at the bottom with only three wins in 10 matches while GT are placed eighth with four wins from 10 games. Looking at the circumstances, the upcoming match is crucial for both the sides. RCB cannot afford another loss as it will end their playoff qualification chances, while GT will also be in jeopardy if they lose.

In their previous encounter, GT were outmuscled by a Will Jacks special. A target of 201 turned out to be a cakewalk for RCB with his rapid acceleration from a 31-ball fifty to a 41-ball hundred. This time (Saturday, May 4) the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be the hosts and GT will be aiming to settle the scores.

Openers: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill (c)

While the rest of the teams have dazzled in the powerplay this season, GT's opening has been one of their major weaknesses. Wriddhiman Saha is struggling to find runs and has been a free wicket for the opposition. The keeper-batter scored just five runs in the last match against RCB. 

Shubman Gill has had an inconsistent run so far, but the GT skipper remains the backbone of the batting unit. The right-hander has scored 320 runs in 10 matches but was dismissed for 16 after striking at 84.21 in the last match against RCB. Gill will aim for a strong outing at Chinnaswamy’s batting-friendly pitch.
