Abhinav Mukund is an Indian opening left-handed batter who played for Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit. He has his highest first-class score of 300* and he is a player with a temperament and has the potential to get stuck in the crease for a long time producing runs.

His good records in the domestic circuit earned him the Test cap in 2011 in the place of the rested openers. However, he failed to make an impact in his debut, but his 48 and 62 in his 4th and 5th innings earned him a spot in the England series but didn’t play well.

Mukund was called back again in 2017 against Sri Lanka and in his 14th innings, he scored 81 runs but was not enough for him to impress the selectors further. He was not given a chance after that and in his short journey with the Indian Test team, he has hit 320 runs in 7 matches.
