10 Cricketers with the Best Emotional Connect with their Fans: Even though the number of nations that play cricket on the international level is quite low compared to many other sports out there, it’s a game that is surely loved a lot by the people who follow it. Though there are a lot of cricketers who are loved by the public, there are some who have immense emotional connect with the fans. When they smile, the fans smile; when they are upset or life’s a bit harsh upon them or when they announce their retirement – fans weep. He is inarguably the biggest name in cricket till now. Even after piling up so many records, he has always remained grounded, been away from controversies and has humbly made his bat do the talking. Sachin is like a son to every mother of India and is a homely figure. His farewell speech made people cry – in awe, admiration and sorrow. People like me who were born in the late 80’s found it hard to imagine an Indian team without Sachin – because since the time we remember cricket, he was there, always. 2. Rahul Dravid: Rahul Dravid. The only time we remember that happening was during an IPL match when Rajasthan Royals, the team he was captaining, lost an almost-won match. So you can understand, how perfect and neat his career has been. He always had immense love for cricket. As his wife Vijeeta Dravid once said – “He won’t care about branded clothes or watches and would complete his entire tour with 2 pair of clothes, but he could easily sense if a bat was an ounce heavier or lighter”.
