7. Nicholas Pooran - 16 Crores (2022)

The explosive West Indies stumper-batter Nicholas Pooran gave every franchise a run for their money as he triggered a bidding war between the IPL franchises. Last year, Pooran entered the IPL auction for a base amount of 2 Crore (INR). Initially, the bidding by franchises crossed the 4 crore mark in quick time.

Then the two IPL teams Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals started a bidding war by raising the amount bar in a quite staggering manner. Both teams started the aggressive bidding after the amount crossed 6 Crore. As a result, at one juncture it felt like both teams were ready to break all of their bank balance to avail the services of the talented batter. Surprisingly, another franchise in the form of Lucknow Super Giants started to make things more intense as they entered the bidding when the price was 7.5 Crore. Eventually, they shattered the dreams of the other two franchises and bought Pooran for a humongous 16 Crores.

Speaking of his T20 journey, Nicholas Pooran has featured in 295 games, whereby he has batted in 272 innings. During these games, he accumulated 5'961 runs while averaging 25.69. His best score in T20s is 102* with two centuries and 33 fifties, respectively.
