7. Mahela Jayawardene – 122:
Former Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardene was the mainstay of the Sri Lankan batting since his debut. Incidentally, Jayawardene had previously played 119 matches in a row from 1999 to 2003 before bettering his streak, by playing 122 matches from 2005 to 2009. Jayawardene was rested for the 5th ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the Feroze Shah Kotla, and that ended his 122-match streak. The match was abandoned due to unplayable pitch conditions. Mahela made 3415 runs in those 122 ODIs.
