Shaun Pollock’s ability to swing the ball as well as his leadership skills saw most South African selectors build the team around him. He did not miss a single ODI for half a decade from 2000 to 2005. Subsequently was rested in the 3rd and the 4th ODI against Zimbabwe at home. Pollock made his comeback two matches later against the West Indies at Kingston. He picked up 174 wickets during this time.
