• Abhishek Mohan Nayar was born on 8th October 1983 in Secunderabad. His parents, however, originally belonged to Kerala and had migrated to Secunderabad.

• Abhishek Nayar grew up in Mumbai and started his cricketing career in the famous Shivaji Park, Mumbai.

In the 2012/2013 Ranji Trophy, he was the second highest of the season and scored 966 runs for Mumbai.
