3 Records MS Dhoni couldn't break in international cricket
MS Dhoni retired from the international cricket on August 15, 2020.
2. Missing 5,000 runs and 100 matches in Test format
Despite being regarded as one of the best finishers in the white-ball format, Dhoni had a decent run with the bat in the Test format too. The 41-year-old played his debut Test match in December 2005 against Sri Lanka and took retirement from the longest format of the game in 2014 after playing his last game against Australia.
Talking about his numbers in the Test format, the right-handed batter represented India in 90 matches and scored 4876 runs at a decent average of 38.09. He also had 33 fifties, six centuries, and one double-hundred as well with his highest score being 224 runs against Australia.
Dhoni missed the 5,000-run mark by just 124 runs but played several match-winning and match-saving knocks for his country. In his last Test match, Dhoni scored 11 runs in the first innings against Australia while he remained unbeaten for his 24 runs off 39 balls as India played a draw against the home team in Melbourne. He also missed the milestone of playing 100 Test matches by just 10 games.
