1. Most Test runs as India skipper
MS Dhoni led the Indian Test team for the first time in 2008 against South Africa in Kanpur as the home team went on to crush the Proteas side within three days of the match. Dhoni was given full charge of the Test team in the same year as team India enjoyed a successful run under his leadership.
Talking about Dhoni’s numbers in Test cricket as captain, the right-handed batter played 60 Test matches and amassed 3454 runs at an average of 40.64 with five centuries and 24 fifties. The right-handed batter is just behind Virat Kohli who scored 5864 runs as team India Test skipper.
Dhoni’s one of the most memorable Test knocks came against Australia in 2013 where he smashed 224 runs and helped his team to a comfortable victory against the Aussie side. Overall, he stroked 33 fifties, six hundred and one double-century in his Test career.
