3. Rohit Sharma’s 477 sixes in international cricket

Rohit is hailed as a ‘hitman’ for his ability to score big boundaries which are generally converted into sixes. He is aggressive by nature and never misses an opportunity to go for six rather than a safe grounded four. During his 264-run knock against Sri Lanka in 2014, he broke the record for most sixes in an ODI inning with nine big hits.

Martin Guptill and Fakhar Zaman went on to break that record but the Indian batter continues to go for biggies and now has 477 international sixes to his name. Only Chris Gayle has hit more sixes in international cricket than Rohit and no current cricketer has even reached the 400-six mark.

Babar is in the same league as Rohit when it comes to quality and scoring big runs, but he is far behind the Indian ace when it comes to hitting sixes. Babar ranks first in ICC Batting charts for both ODI and T20I cricket despite having smashed only 106 international sixes so far. Compared to Rohit’s aggression with a bat, Babar has controlled and calm on-the-pitch nature and is unlikely to go berserk to chase or create any records for big hits.
