Chennai Super Kings
The Chennai Super Kings is the second most successful franchise in the IPL with three titles in their cabinet. Pacers like Lakshmipathy Balaji, Doug Bollinger, Albie Morkel and Dwayne Bravo were instrumental for CSK’s success over the years. The batting unit is very stable but their seamers have been leaking runs in the last couple of seasons.
Mohit Sharma was bought for 5 crore INR in the previous auction but he was included for just a solitary game. Dwayne Bravo’s death overs dexterity has been diminishing. After Lungi Ngidi and David Willey pulled out, CSK’s bowling looked bleak and harmless. Excluding Deepak Chahar, other Indian pacers; Shardul, Mohit and KM Asif couldn’t put any noteworthy performances.
Periyasamy’s average of 10 and economy of little over 6 runs per over, might tempt CSK to go for the Tamil Nadu born seamer in the auction next year. There couldn’t be a better learning harbour for a youngster other than under Dhoni and CSK. Periyasamy would bring the local flavour and experience- CSK could well be on track for their fourth title.
