One of the most dangerous all-rounders of the West Indies women’s cricket team was seen donning a face gear after she had suffered an injury on her cheekbone and had to undergo surgery in order to recover from it.

During a Women’s Big Bash League game, Dottin collided with her Brisbane Heat teammate Laura Harris while attempting to stop the ball from going over the ropes and in the process fractured her cheekbone.

Several titanium plates and screws were used to repair the damage done to her face, she did not completely recover but was still a vital member of the team during the 2017 Women’s World Cup. She was seen wearing a headgear throughout the tournament.
