Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle might be out of the commentary box but that hasn’t kept him away from the game. Harsha Bhogle took a dig on the Rising Pune Supergiants skipper MS Dhoni after he played an uncharacteristic innings of 41 runs in 38 balls.

The Supergiants were chasing a gigantic score of 185 set by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dhoni came in to bat after wickets of Steve Smith and Faf du Plessis fell in quick succession and Kevin Pietersen had to walk off after being injured. Dhoni put up a 91 run stand with Ajinkya Rahane for the 3rd wicket but got out in an attempt to break the shackles and change gears.

Dhoni was dismissed in the 16th over and all he could manage was 41 off 38 balls with just 3 boundaries. Commentator Harsha Bhogle wasn’t shy in commenting on his knock and tweeted, “180+ run chase. 41 (38) can’t win it for you. Some days it might come off but most days it won’t from there.”

He further added that the knock by the RPS skipper was a typical Dhoni knock that keeps the fans awaiting for the big shots. He tweeted, “Typical Dhoni. Keeps you on the edge of your seat thinking it’s going to be this over that he has to go.”

Incidentally, Harsha Bhogle has been in the news for his shocking ouster from the commentary panel of the IPL. The reason why Bhogle was dropped from the commentary panel remains unknown. Some say it was his spat with the BCCI officials at the VCA Stadium at Nagpur while others claim that it was the tweet from Amitabh Bachchan that criticized the commentators for not talking highly about the Indian team. Rumours were also rife that some players had complained about him and hence he was dropped from the commentary team.
