Even coach Stephen Fleming could not help but grimace after owner Sanjiv Goenka opted to splurge a huge sum of 14.5 million for the services of English all-rounder Ben Stokes. Stokes might have been impressive in the recent away series against India but such extravagant indulgence doesn’t assure rich dividends.
Stokes might be forced to leave early on national duty which will restrict his participation in the tournament to the extent of the league matches.
