2. Ben Laughlin (Rajasthan Royals)
Ben Laughlin had been working hard throughout the BBL but hogged the real limelight after restricting Kieron Pollard from scoring 13 runs in the last over during the second semi-final against Melbourne Renegades. He kept his nerves and helped the Strikers who are also the eventual champions storm into the finals. Royals had picked him in the auction even before that at his base price of Rs. 50 Lakhs.
Laughlin was the joint second leading wicket-taker of the tournament and finished with 16 scalps from 12 matches. His economy of 8.36 was on the higher side but he bowled all the difficult overs for his team and more importantly picked wickets at an average of 23 and strike rate of 16.5. Laughlin would want to concentrate on giving fewer runs which will make him a more lethal bowler and eventually benefit Royals who signed him in the IPL auction.
