1. 313 v Sri Lanka at Karachi, 2009:
The innings of 313 was the first ever triple century to be scored against the Sri Lankan team (previous highest being Martin Crowe’s 299). Although the match ended in a draw, this innings from Younis Khan is remembered because it reinstated him as a Test player who could lead by example. After Sri Lanka declared their first innings on 644/7, with captain Mahela Jayawardene and Thilan Samaraweera hitting 240 and 231 respectively, Pakistan’s captain led his side to a response of 765 for 6. Well, it is evident from the scores that the match must have ended in a draw but the Karachi crowd had a lot to cheer for in Younis’ innings. He was the third batsman to score a triple-century for Pakistan after Hanif Mohammad and Inzamam-Ul-Haq.
