5. Krishna Das (Assam):

Assam entered the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy for the first time and fast bowler Krishna Das’ spells were critical to their success. The bowler known for bowling long spells finished with 50 wickets at an average of 16.06. This included five 5-wicket hauls in an innings and two 10-wicket match hauls. His best spell was 7/21 against Odisha in Cuttack. On October 6, 2006 Krishna bore the brunt of a horrible car accident. He had a metal plate inserted to straighten his left arm which he has till day. The talented bowler considers this incident as the turning point in his career which brought the best out of him.
