One of the few commentators from Bangladesh who has a great command over the language and can pull off some pretty decent moments with the mike, Athar Ali Khan has been a good commentator on occasions, but there are too many things which bought him an entry into this list.

He often gets too excited about a few Bangladeshi talents. It’s fine and a lot of other commentators do that as well, but he exaggerates a little too much. There was once an occasion when a young Soumya Sarkar took a catch at covers, his commentary began at how good a fielder he is and went till how good a batsman he can be for a good 3-4 minutes, which is way too much.

One can understand his passion, the place where he comes from, cricket is more than just a religion. But to do commentary at this level, one cannot get overly excited for small things and ramble about it for a long time. If not for the “Exaggeration” and “Over excitement” factors, he is a pretty decent chap behind the mike.
