The on-field brawl between Marlon Samuels and Shane Warne went down as one of the ugliest spats on the cricket field. During the Stars’ innings, Samuels grabbed David Hussey while the Victorian was attempting for a second run. Afterwards, the Australian leg-spinner went up to him and made him aware of his actions.

During the Renegades’ run chase, Warne was caught on the microphones, criticising Samuels for his unsportsmanlike behaviour. The tempers reached a boiling point when he came to strike in the following over.

Warne fielded a shot by Samuels and hurled the ball back at the West Indies all-rounder. The situation vexed Samuels and he flung his bat over Warne’s head in utter disgust. Quite rightly, the umpires intervened to calm down the two players and bring sanity to the contest.
