Australia v India 2024-25 Stats
The 17th edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2025-25) will get underway from November 22, with the first Test to be played at the Optus Stadium, in Perth. Over the period of time, Team India (IND) have been dominating the trophy count as Australia (AUS) have fail to win the coveted trophy since 2016-17. Moreover, India have toured Australia twice since then, and have comprehensively beaten the hosts.
Pat Cummins and Co. would like to avoid another slip up at home and they would hope to leverage the pressure the Indian team is carrying along with them this time around. After losing 3-0 to New Zealand at home, India are in dire need to win the five match Test series against the Aussies by a 4-0 margin to make it to the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final.
The competition is intense and there are some behemoths of the age-old rivalry who will grace the stage to have an upper hand. When India last toured down under, Australians dominated the most runs and wickets chart. While Marnus Labuschagne fetched most runs, scoring 426 runs, pacer Pat Cummins dazzled with 21 wickets and Josh Hazlewood emerged with best bowling figures of 5/8.
Speaking of the most runs scored by a team in an innings, it was again Australia as they scored 369 runs. Ravindra Jadeja represented India in two areas of the stats. The all-rounder had the best batting average of 85 and he also has the best bowling average of 15. For the first time, BGT will have a five match fixture and it would be interesting to see the giants colliding once again.
