Australia v India 2024-25 Schedule
The high-voltage rivalry between Australia and India is set to resume on November 22 in Perth. The visitors have won the last four editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and will be gunning to keep the trophy, but Australia are more than determined as multiple players such as Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins and Usman Khawaja have openly discussed their hunger to finally beat India in a Test series.
In the 2020-21 edition, they picked up an incredible win to kickstart the series in Adelaide, but India made a stunning comeback to win the series 2-1. At home, Rohit Sharma-led side won 2-1 in the 2022-23 edition and now, they are once again set to contest for a long five-Tests tour. Ahead of that, there are injury-related concerns in the Indian camp, but the team management is optimistic as a spot in the WTC 2025 Final is yet to be won.
After the Perth Test, the contest will shift to Adelaide, where the two teams will contest in a pink-ball clash. Ahead of that, the visitors are also slated to play a warm-up game against Prime Minister’s XI. The action will move to Brisbane’s Gabba for the third Test. It was in the same venue where India picked up a historic win in 2021, breaking Australia’s 32-year-winning streak.
The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground will be hosting the Boxing Day Test, starting December 26. Out of 14 Tests, India have won four matches in the stadium, losing eight. Finally, the fifth Test of the series will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground, which will also be the pink Test, dedicated to breast cancer awareness and raise funds for McGrath foundation.
