5 Cricketers and their Tennis Equivalents: Both cricket and tennis are widely followed sports. The former is hugely popular in Asia while the latter has its craze in Europe. Cricket and Tennis have produced some incredible athletes who have captivated a lot of people. Now what we are going to do is try and combine some famous cricketers with their appropriate equivalent tennis players based on factors like achievements, character and attitude. It is just a work of our imagination. So here we go 5 Cricketers and their Tennis Equivalents: 1. Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer. (© Getty Images) Both these legends hold most records in their respective sports. Sachin is a genius in cricket, whereas Federer is a genius in tennis. Both are the most popular athletes in cricket and tennis respectively. Federer is known for his elegant shot-making and effortless play, similarly, Sachin is admired for his beautiful and graceful shots. 2. Shane Warne and Rafael Nadal Shane Warne and Rafael Nadal. (© Getty Images) Rafael Nadal is the king of topspin and Shane Warne is the king of spin. These two very famous sport stars are similar in another way. Rafa is the first Spaniard to win a grand-slam other than French Open that is other than on clay. Similarly Warne is a unique spin talent from Australia, a country which has produced so many world class fast bowlers. 3. Chris Gayle and Juan Martín del Potro Chris Gayle and Juan Martín del Potro. (© Getty Images) Juan Martín del Potro is the hardest hitter of the tennis ball and Gayle is the hardest hitter of the cricket ball. On a given day, del Potro can run through his opponents at ease, best example for that would be the 2009 US open when he thrashed both Rafa and Federer. And similarly on his day Gayle can decimate any bowler. 4. AB de Villiers and Gael Monfils AB de Villiers and Gael Monfils. (© Getty Images) Both are known for being unorthodox, out of the box and for playing outrageous shots; no doubt they are the greatest entertainers and crowd pullers in their respective sports. AB de Villiers can reverse sweep a fast bowler for a six and Monfils can jump and hit the tennis ball for a badminton-like smash. AB hasn’t won any ICC tournament, just like Monfils who hasn’t won any major tournament. 5. Lasith Malinga and Ivo Karlovic Lasith Malinga and Ivo Karlovic. (© Getty Images) Malinga is the king of the Yorkers and Karlovic is the king of aces. Both Yorkers and aces are the go-to options for these two players and are virtually unplayable. These are shots that can rescue them from any difficult situation. And also is the thing which equates them to being termed similar.
