Shoaib Akhtar, the former pacer from Pakistan is known for his vocal nature irrespective of what is going in the world. At the moment, each and every country is going through a tough time due to COVID-19 outbreak. This has forced all the sports associations to postpone the tournaments and series for an indefinite period until the situation comes under control.

In these conditions, the 44-year-old came out with a proposal of organising a fund-raising three-match ODI series between India and Pakistan. It is a well-known fact that both countries don’t share a strong bond when it comes to cricket. And, this statement didn’t go down well with the cricketing fraternity and he had to receive heavy criticism from the former Indian cricketers like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar.

India and Pakistan played their last ODI series back in 2012-13 that was won by Men in Green by 2-1. After that, both the nations have played against each other only in the ICC events.
