Lala Amarnath – Mohinder Amarnath
Lala Amarnath was the first ever Indian cricketer to score a Test century and he has a special place in the record books of Indian cricket history. He played 24 Tests from the period of 1933 to 1952 scoring 878 runs at an average of 24.38. He also scored a century and four fifties apart from having a long first-class career.
Lala’s son Mohinder played an immense part in the World Cup-winning campaign for India in 1983 with back-to-back match-winning performances. Having made his international debut in 1969, Mohinder went on to play international cricket until 1989.
