5 Domestic performers who have been ignored in IPL 9
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known to promote the domestic talent in the country but by the look of things so far, some of the leading performers of the domestic circuit have been missing in action on the field. On one hand, there are uncapped players who are making a big time impact. There are more than a few performers from the domestic circuit being perennially ignored by the franchises. Some have not fit into the scheme of things for the teams and some have been bluntly ignored. Here are the 5 most prominent players who had a good domestic season but have been ignored in IPL 9 thus far.
1. Mandeep Singh:
Mandeep Singh joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad ahead of IPL 2015 season and was contracted for the 2016 season by the same franchise. The stylish batsman from Punjab has, however, failed to fit in the scheme of things for the RCB playing XI. He got just one opportunity to play for RCB this season so far and hadn’t had the opportunity to bat in that game. Mandeep wasn’t picked up in the squad thereafter. Sachin Baby and Sarfaraz Khan have been preferred over him. He was one of the leading performers this domestic season. With 394 runs at an average of 65.66, he was the leading run-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this year.
