Rajasthan Royals’ triumphant tale of 2008 is one of the most beautiful cricketing stories of the 21st century. Royals under the leadership of Shane Warne defied all odds and became the inaugural champions of IPL. Few men were instrumental to RR’s historic triumph and one such man was Shane Watson. Watson helped Royals narrate a glorious tale as he scored 472 runs and took 17 wickets to help his side lift the trophy.

Watson’s heroics were appreciated by the Australian Cricket Board as well as he earned a place in the national side’s Test setup. His return to the longer format of the format came after spending 2 years on the sidelines, all thanks to his masterclass in IPL.

Ever since 2008, Shane Watson became a constant sight in the Australian setup and was later promoted to open the innings, something which did wonders for Watson’s international career. The gifted Aussie all-rounder relished playing at the top and was often listed amongst the best all-rounders of the world. From his scintillating stroke play to his efficient bowling, Watson never failed to mesmerize us. He retired from the International cricket in 2018 but still plays in the IPL, where he now dons the CSK colors.
