The Champions Trophy 2013 is definitely one of the most satisfying victories for MS Dhoni. He was undergoing a lot mentally as there were allegations of match-fixing on his team, Chennai Super Kings, although they were proven to be wrong. There were questions about his accountability and integrity. Hence, he had to pull out something special and he wanted this more than anyone else. He made some tough decisions during the course of the tournament which all worked out great.

This was also the same time when Rohit Sharma was promoted as the opener. The celebrations of his after winning the Final was something out of the world and not something that fans would often see. Also, The Indian Territorial Army conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni on 1 November 2011. He is the second Indian cricketer after Kapil Dev to receive this honour.

Dhoni’s love for the Army is well-known. He was often spotted involved in various army activities. Also, he trained hard with the army as well in the period. Dhoni also underwent training with the Army’s elite Para Brigade and did five parachute jumps after finishing the course. We could expect a small part of this covered in the movie.
