While the cricket-loving public enjoyed every moment of Sachin Tendulkar dissecting the England bowling attack in Test cricket, the bowlers had a hard time bowling to this batting Genius. The ‘God of cricket’ is the most prolific run-scorer for India against England in Test cricket, and scored a staggering 2535 runs in 53 innings at an average of 51.73.

Tendulkar also scored 7 centuries and 13 half-centuries against the England side through the course of his unmatched Test career. There are several gems that Tendulkar conjured against England. He scored a stunning 193 at Headingley and enabled the Indian side to inflict an innings defeat upon England.

And, another Tendulkar special that will be remembered by the fans for a long time is the 103* that he scored against England at Chennai in the year 2008. India was chasing a daunting target of 387 for victory in the second innings, and the master stood up to help India go past the finish line with 6 wickets to spare.

Sachin Tendulkar is the only cricketer in history to play 200 Test matches and is also the only batsman to have scored over 50 Test centuries as well. He finished his Test career with a whopping 15921 runs to his name, and no batsman is even within touching distance of Tendulkar’s run tally in Test cricket. Tendulkar took guard for India for the final time in the whites in November 2013, and bid adieu to the sport in his home city of Mumbai.
