5 instances when cricketers were denied of reaching milestones
Ravindra Jadeja is the latest case in this context as he scored an unbeaten 175 before Rohit Sharma declared the innings.
2. Sachin Tendulkar
While Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the best batter of all time, even he finds a mention in this list. It happened during the first Test against arch-rivals Pakistan at Multan in March 2004. While Virender Sehwag scored 309 and also became the first Indian to score a Test triple century, Sachin had also got the better of the lethal Pakistan bowling lineup.
Tendulkar had scored 194 runs off 348 balls and just needed six runs to register a double century. Nonetheless, when his batting partner Yuvraj Singh was dismissed for 59, the acting captain Rahul Dravid declared the Indian innings at 675/5 which apparently disappointed the Master Blaster.
In the end, the decision paid off in the team’s cause as India went on to register a comprehensive win by an innings and 52 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
