Mahmudullah, the Bangladeshi batting all-rounder is one of the most reliable finishers in the limited-overs cricket. His ability to control the innings and hit big shots when required is well known in several T20 leagues around the globe. In addition to his batting, the right-hander also bowls handy off-spin and with IPL teams looking for all-rounders, Mahmudullah could have been a valuable addition to some IPL teams.

The middle-order batsman had put in his name for the 2020 auction, but he did not attract any bid for himself. He later praised the tournament in an interview, by terming it the best franchise tournament in the world. “Obviously, because IPL is a big stage and everybody looks after it and everybody wants to play there. Because the tournament is so fantastic and I think probably the best franchise tournament in the world,” he said.

Mahnudullah has played in various T20 leagues throughout the world but playing IPL is one thing he would have definitely wanted. IPL teams such as Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad are missing the services of a hard-hitting allrounder and they might go for the Bangladeshi cricketer in the coming years. Mahmudullah is 34-year-old and an IPL contract might be waiting for him.
