5 Oldest players in IPL 2016

T20 cricket is usually considered as young man’s game. This form of instant cricket is fast, aggressive and full of rush. But this, in fact, is a huge misconception. Actually, veterans have been equally effective in all departments as compared to their younger counterparts. The ninth season of the Indian Premier League will also see a lot of old guns who are ready to fire. So, here we bring to you the list of 5 oldest players featuring in IPL 2016. 5. Ashish Nehra (36 years 284 days): Ashish Nehra CSK. Nehra aged 36 years and 384 days will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. Even at this age, his effectiveness with the ball hasn’t dropped a bit. It was his sterling IPL performances which enabled him to make a comeback in the Indian team and play in the recently concluded World T20. Tahir was a late bloomer in international cricket and is currently aged 37 years 12 days. He made his IPL debut in 2014 and has been highly impressive for the DD. He has played 16 games till now and has picked up 24 wickets at a superb average of 20.20. 3. Zaheer Khan (37 years 184 days): Zaheer Khan DD. Zak is currently aged 37 years and 184 days which makes him the third-oldest cricketer this season. The veteran left-arm pacer will lead a very young side with a hope of bringing some turnaround in the fortunes for the franchise. Zaheer played the league since its inception and has 82 wickets to his name in 78 games. 2. Pravin Tambe (44 years 122 days): Pravin Tambe RR. Tambe is currently 44 years and 122 days old and will represent Gujarat Lions this season. So far in his IPL career, Tambe has played in 26 games and has snapped 23 wickets with the best bowling figures of 4/20. 1. Brad Hogg (45 years 65 days): Brad Hogg KKR. Hogg, now aged 45 years and 65 days has a very busy schedule round the year playing for various T20 leagues. Hogg made his IPL debut in 2012 for Kolkata Knight Riders and has been a key component of the team since then. He doesn’t get regular chances to play and has played only 17 matches in which he has taken 21 wickets.
