At the moment the South African cricket is going through turmoil as their transition phase is not going according to the plans. In addition to that, the lacklustre performances of their proven-stars have further engraved their problems. One of them being David Miller who has not been at his usual best in recent times. The southpaw has notched a single half-century in his last 28 international outings.

To be more specific his poor run of form was one of the reasons why Proteas were knocked out in the group stages of the 2019 World Cup. Coincidentally, he is facing a similar situation in the IPL as he seems to have lost his touch since the 2015 edition. In the last 4 seasons, he has only accumulated 530 runs in his 32 outings. What’s more disheartening to see is his inability to play match-winning knocks which earned him the nickname “Killer Miller” in the cricketing circle.

So as expected, he was released by the Punjab franchise before the IPL 2020 auctions. Thereafter, the Rajasthan team bagged him for his base price of 75 lakhs. However, with the presence of players like Ben Stokes and Steve Smith in the middle-order of Pink team David might not be a regular in the playing XI. Still, he will have to cash in whenever the opportunity knocks on his door as his IPL stocks are falling quickly.
