5 players from the New Zealand-England T20I series who may bag earn big bucks in the IPL 2020 Auction
The performances of the players in this cut-throat series may have caught the eyes of the franchise owners.
Dawid Malan
Having finished as the highest run-getter in the series (208), Dawid Malan was one of the many candidates who shone in this experimental English line-up. Prior to this series, the left-hander already had four T20I half-centuries to his name. Even though Malan’s positions got reshuffled throughout the series, he displayed that he could bat at any spot and still get a substantial score.
In the third T20 international, Malan set the base as an opening batsman before the middle-order batsman huffed and puffed in the run-chase. In the fourth game in Napier, Tom Banton’s cameo at the top laid the foundation for England. The 32-year old, at number three, joined hands with skipper Eoin Morgan to thread a whirlwind partnership of 182.
In the process, Malan brought up the fastest century by an Englishman in T20Is and remained unbeaten at 103 at a strike rate of an excess of 220 to carry his side to a mammoth total of 241. Having a batsman who can bat at any position and still get the runs briskly indeed counts as an asset in any T20 setup.
