5 players from the New Zealand-England T20I series who may bag earn big bucks in the IPL 2020 Auction
The performances of the players in this cut-throat series may have caught the eyes of the franchise owners.
Chris Jordan
One of the most underrated limited-overs specialists, Chris Jordan, is mainly part of the English T20 setup due to his adeptness in containing the run-flow in death overs. A fierce striker of the ball, Jordan proved to be the difference in the fifth T20I at the iconic Eden Park in Auckland.
With 16 to get off the last over in a mammoth chase of 147 in 11 overs, England could scrape to only three runs in three deliveries while also conceding a wicket. The Barbados-born hammered a six over long-off in his first ball to slightly tilt the scales to England’s favour. He chalked up six more runs, including a boundary off the last ball to bring New Zealand in a tie-breaker.
With the ball, Jordan stuck to bowling full and wide of off-stump. He only conceded one boundary ball along with producing a wicket as England prevailed in yet another Super Over heist. New Zealand found themselves eight runs short of the target which was to score 17 runs in an over.
While Jordan performed well in the 2016 season with Bangalore, he couldn’t find many opportunities in the next two seasons with Sunrisers Hyderabad. With death-bowling as one of the crucial criteria to get selected, he could attract a relatively higher amount of IPL bids based on his heroics in New Zealand.
