5 Players to watch out for in the West Indies v India 1st Test
5. Mohammed Shami:
In a 4-year Test career, Shami has featured in only 12 Tests for India thanks to the niggles and injuries which never seem to disappear. Many a times he has been found guilty of rushing his comeback to the international arena after an injury layover. His eagerness to perform for India is what drives his never say die attitude.
Shami last featured in the Indian Test team way back in the 2014/15 tour of Australia where he had a below par outing. But the fact that his best bowling performance has come against West Indies that too in his debut Test, where he finished with match figures of 9/119, will motivate him to escalate it further.
With a slightly slinging action and decent speed, add to which the ability to reverse swing with the old ball, Shami can be one of the most deceptive fast bowlers around. He is back after a long break from international cricket, and if he handles his fitness well, he can be India’s most dangerous bowler in the Caribbean.
