5 players who didn't perform in IPL 2021 and doing wonders in IPL 2022
A handful of reputed players failed to deliver in the previous season of the competition, and they will look to make a mark this season.
4. Rahul Chahar
After having a few good seasons with Mumbai Indians, Rahul Chahar had an uneventful outing in 2021. Although he picked up 13 wickets last season, he didn’t have much of an impact as he failed to pick wickets during important moments in the game. Moreover, Chahar was even dropped from the playing XI to accommodate Jayant Yadav towards the end of the 2021 season.
The young spinner changed his base to Punjab in the new season. Rahul Chahar, who has been designated as the lead spinner for Punjab Kings has already put up some impressive displays so far. The leg-spinner has seven scalps to his name in four matches at an average of 14.43. What has been more impressive about the young spinner is that he has been very economical with the ball, conceding just under 6.31 runs per over on an average.
He picked up three wickets in his four-over spell against Chennai Super Kings, whilst conceding just 25 runs. Besides, he has contributed with the bat in the lower-order, scoring an unbeaten 22 against Gujarat Titans in their last fixture. With the T20 World Cup lined up for this year in Australia, Rahul Chahar will look to continue the good work and make a strong point for his selection.
