5 Reasons why BCCI should allow WAGs on tours: Recent days have seen a lot of buzz about the poor performance of the players being blamed on their partners. The media, fans everyone was outrageous about their love interest being present in the game and becoming a reason of distraction. Social media saw bad words and blames which forced the players to react. Looking at the entire scenario the BCCI decided and agreed to play it safe and ban the presence of WAGs in the tours to come. There have been discussions about why the players should not have company and the verdict has been given.

But here are a few points that on the contrary show us that the presence of a loved ones cannot be stated as something negative. Looking at the brighter side.

Here are 5 Reasons why BCCI should allow WAGs on tours:

1. Partners are Inspiration, not distraction:

A loved one, someone close to us, who understands, backs us in a tough situation when you have challenges to face is the best thing that can inspire and encourage you. Family always thinks on your best of interests, their staying together will bring success, bad form can’t be blamed on WAGs.

2. Emotional support, during poor form:

Poor form of a player can disturb his mental state, leading to loss of confidence. A known face in the stands can lift up the hopes and hold that pinch which urges them to do even better for their partners delight. Also, some weaknesses and problems can’t be discussed with everyone, a partner can come to the rescue in such situations.

3. Long-term effect:

Staying away from family may stress out the relationship in return stressing the player and affecting their performance in the long run. Who likes to stay away from their family? Even cricketers are normal, emotional individuals like us, who seek love and support from their wives and girlfriends, and they should not be deprived of that.

4. Media will have no one to blame:

The recent news have had a lot of accusations hurled upon the companions of the cricketers who accompany them in the tours, Anushka Sharma being one of the major targets who was held responsible for Virat Kohli’s poor form in Australia, if there is no one present, where will the senseless liability go. The media as well as the “fans” will have to blame it on the players being human! They will have good and bad days, all matches cannot be won and that is senseless for the reporters and the “fans” to lay blame on WAGs.

5. Why is BCCI’s logic illogical?:

All the other players from around the world, also have a game to play but the Boards there don’t see it as a problem. For example, South Africa team is allowed to travel with their WAGs and they seem to be more relaxed and get a chance to spend time with them on their off days, it will rejuvenate the players all together. BCCI on the other hand, has acted opposite.
