2. Extending the batting powerplay:

It has been a conscious effort from the ICC to make the batting team to take the batting powerplay before the end of 40 overs to reduce the monotonousness of middle over’s where the batsmen often tend to cut down the risk and are contented with rotating the strike, accumulating singles and doubles.
