Spinners are always handy in subcontinent conditions and Anil Kumble was one of them. Not a big spinner of the ball, Kumble still managed over 600 Test scalps. It was astonishing to see how he had the better of so many world class batsmen. His variation made him different; his ideas were perfectly applied as his fingers did most of the magic.

What Kumble always had was the skill of creating pressure. He knew the art of toying with the mind of the batsmen. His record of 10 wickets in an innings it still untouched and is highly unlikely to be broken.
