After the ‘bits and pieces’ comment, Jadeja was all fired up. He played his first game of the 2019 World Cup against Sri Lanka and did well. With Kuldeep Yadav out of form, Jadeja was picked for the semi-final as well. He bowled a brilliant spell where he returned with figures of 1/34 in his 10 overs. Moreover, he was electric in the field and he took an excellent catch and effected a very good runout as well.

With the bat, he walked out with the score reading 92/6. India looked down and out. However, it was Jadeja who turned it around. Along with MS Dhoni, the Saurashtra all-rounder resurrected the innings. He was the aggressor as he constantly found the boundary and kept up with the asking rate. The left-hander struck a fabulous 77 off just 59 balls to lead India’s recovery. However, it was his dismissal that played a big part in India eventually losing the game.

It was one of Jadeja’s finest performances in white-ball cricket. Hence, the 30-year-old was all over Twitter and received praise from all across the globe.
