5 Youngsters who could be surprise inclusions in India's T20 World Cup 2021 squad
These five players might find a place in India's T20 World Cup 2021 squad if they consistently perform.
While the Covid-riddled year has taken a toll on the sporting world, International cricket went on a toss for months too. The T20 World Cup which was slated to be held this year was postponed to 2022 owing to the global pandemic. However, the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup remains on the cards which is set to hit the floors in the second half of the upcoming year.
The world’s best cricketing tournament will set the stage on fire once again. From the battle of sixes, jaw-dropping catches to last-ball climax, the T20 world cup will have all the ingredients to make the cricket fanatics stick to their television sets till the last ball is bowled. Given the fact that India will play host to the high-voltage contest, the expectations are going to be doubled for the Men in Blue to etch the glory.
On that note, this article attempts to deconstruct the names of street-smart youngsters who may find their names in the Indian squad prior to the World Cup. Apart from the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian army apparently will flaunt several nukes in the form of Ishan Kishan and many others.
Let’s find out the names of these exuberant players:
1. Ishan Kishan
The Ranchi-based cricketer came into fame after he led the Indian colts from the front in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016 held in Bangladesh. Despite a lean run with the bat (73 runs in six innings), in a tournament where Rishabh Pant lit up the scoring charts, he took India to the finals. However, the team could not cross the winning mark, but Ishan made it clear that he has arrived in the cricketing arena.
Realizing his ability to dispatch the ball out for a maximum, he became a renowned name in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Eventually, he repaid the trust shown in him as he smacked 516 runs in 14 outings in the recently-concluded cash-rich contest. Moreover, the southpaw scored at a very consistent basis at a stellar average of 57.33.
The uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman has been the talk of the town after his swashbuckling rendition with the willow. Subsequently, it is expected that he may get his International call as Rishabh Pant does not seem to be in the greatest of form for over a year.
