6 cricketers who played most IPL seasons but are yet to make India debut
A lot of talented players have knocked at the doors of the national selectors.
6. Shreevats Goswami (9 seasons)
Shreevats Goswami had played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first three seasons of the Indian Premier League but he had only limited opportunities in those seasons. He turned out to be one of the best performers amongst the Under-19 players in the 2008 season and was subsequently bestowed with the ‘Best Under-19 player’ award.
During his stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2011, he only managed a top score of 22 in seven matches. Transferred to the Rajasthan Royals prior to IPL 2012, he kept wickets in 11 games in his first season with the franchise, taking four catches and effecting four stumpings.
He has not been on the IPL radar since then with the advent of new attacking wicketkeeper batsmen, but Sunrisers Hyderabad have instilled faith in him and drafted him back in the mix in the 2018 season and he will play for them in this season as well.
He was a key contributor in the top-order during India’s successful campaign at the 2008 U-19 World Cup in Malaysia. Goswami has toiled hard in the domestic circuit for Bengal. Some good performances have also earned him a spot in India A team.
The 31-year-old, who has played nine seasons of the IPL, would love to make it big this season if provided with an opportunity and would want to put some up some stellar performances to grab notice of the national selectors.
