6 Records that Bangladesh players hold in International cricket
Here we look at the six major records that Bangladesh players hold in International cricket.
2. Fastest to all-round doubles:
If there is a player who can make it to any International side in any given condition and format, the first one from Bangladesh has to be Shakib Al Hasan. The left-armer has been a consistent performer with both the bat and ball across all formats. He is one of the three players in the history of International cricket to score 10000 runs and pick 500 wickets.
Shakib, who completed his double in only 302 matches, is by far the fastest. The two other players with this double; Jacques Kallis and Shahid Afridi took 420 and 477 matches respectively. Shakib is also the fastest among the five players who hold the double of 5000 runs and 200 wickets in ODI cricket. He needed 178 matches; 43 games less than Kallis (221).
Shakib Al Hasan is also the fastest among the 14 players with the 3000 runs and 200 wickets double in Test cricket. He needed only 54 matches for this double to break the record held by Ian Botham (55 Tests) that too on the former England player’s 63rd birthday during the recent Test match against the Windies.
