7 cricketers and their Idols: Cricketers are followed, loved and admired everywhere in the world, they have fans, are idolized and looked upon as inspiration. But, these cricketers too have grown up watching and getting inspired by cricketers; they have their favourites, their idols, a star player of their own. Cricketers as young boys and budding players looked upon at some cricketers for inspiration. They loved the game and the players, learnt from their style, copied their batting and bowling actions and moreover, dreamed of becoming a part of their world. Here are 7 cricketers and their idols: 1. Stuart Broad is a McGrath fan: Australian pacer and legendary bowler Glenn McGrath has been the source of inspiration for the England fast bowler and the recent Ashes hero Stuart Broad. Virat Kohli idolizes Sachin: Virat from the beginning of his career has been compared to Sachin Tendulkar, but it is a fact less known that it was one of the dreams of the Indian heart throb to bat like the Master. Virat has grown up seeing Tendulkar bat, and he always wanted to bat like Sachin. Although Virat shares the dressing room with the Willow Prince but he cannot forget the day he first saw his idol. Michael Clarke is a Brian Lara fan: On being asked about his favourite in the cricket world, where Clarke himself is a favourite for many, he answered with the name of legendary Brian Lara. Sachin Tendulkar’s favourites- Sir Viv Richards,Sunil Gavaskar and Sandeep Patil: Sachin has named Vivian Richards as his favourite, Sir Viv Richards is no doubt a legend. Saeed Anwar is a legendary Pakistani batsman, alongside Afridi named himself as his favourite. 6. Mustafiqur Rahman is Amir’s fan: The young fast bowler of the Bangladesh team has declared Mohammad Amir as his idol. Rahman loves his bowling action and followed the Pakistani pacer while he played.
