6. Suranga Lakmal
The 35-year-old fast bowler from Sri Lanka called time on his international career earlier this year after the Test series against India. The tall and lanky fast bowler led Sri Lanka’s pace in the last few years. He also captained the side in five Test matches.
Overall, Suranga Lakmal has played 167 matches for Sri Lanka and took 288 wickets, including four five-wicket hauls. He is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in Test matches for the Islanders. He played a massive role in beating South Africa in 2019 which is arguably Sri Lanka’s greatest Test victory in history.
Lakmal bowled with a big heart and gave every ounce on the cricket field. After his international retirement, he strikes a two-year County deal with Derbyshire, which will see the fast bowler reunite with Mickey Arthur.
